Special Report on the USA Tour – February 2010

A visit of the Tileagd Choir to
Madison Christian Church, Groveport Ohio

The Tileagd Choir arrived in Groveport Ohio Friday evening (February 19th) around 8:15 pm. Our Madison Christian Church hosts were there anxiously waiting, for you see they all have a servant’s heart and they were ready to serve the Tileagd team.

As for the choir they were to stay three nights and of course they were wondering what to expect and what their host families were like. Were they going to be friendly? Would they like them? They probably had many other questions that young people might have. Not to worry, God was in charge. He always takes care of the little things. He knows exactly where we need to be.

The next morning the choir met at church to set up for Sunday morning services and I could already see the love between the choir members and their hosts was beginning to develop.

The choir sang two songs at the two services on Sunday morning and had a full concert on Sunday evening with a native Gypsy dance at the end of the concert!

Needless to say, our congregation was amazed at the talent. To think that just a few years back these children had no smiles and no hope, but because of the love of Christians like Kevin Hoy and others from the Smiles Foundation, who took the time to find out about this village and their needs, because of this, these children not only have beautiful smiles, most of all, they have hope and they know the love of Jesus.

On Sunday after the morning services, my husband and I invited the hosts and the choir members to our house for lunch. The kids loved it and as the day went on we all bonded together like one big family. It gave the kids a chance to play games, watch movies, and yes, to bond with us “older” folks and I think it was relaxing for Kevin and Greg to have them all together.

After the wonderful concert on Sunday evening, we all came back to the house and had more food, and guess what? Yes, Cornell put the music on and he and the other members tried to teach us “The Dance”. One of the members from our church told me the next day that this was the best time he had had in a long time. He also told me he was ready for a mission trip to Romania. Since that evening, there have been several people wanting to know if we were going to go to Romania. I know for sure my husband and I are ready to go.

We all received many blessings from Kevin, Greg, and the Tileagd Choir. They have touched our lives in a way that they will probably never know and they will remain in our hearts forever. I thank God that we were able to have them as guests at our church. Now they are a part of our church family.

On Monday the Choir Performed at Madison Christian School. Once again they were a great hit. The children from Madison School joined in on the last song and of course they loved the dance!

As the hosts and choir said their good-byes with hugs and tears they were on their way and will be sadly missed for a long time. Our hearts are full of joy because of them.
